So it probably seems a bit odd that I am starting my healthy living blog with a dirty martini but these were the first pictures I felt comfortable posting. I cannot take credit for this masterpiece fit for Snookie but it was a nice change for a dirty martini lover like myself.

From the looks of it the bartender at emBargo in Hyannis, Mass. had made quite a few of these bad boys.

Pickle Martini

3 Parts Vodka

1 Pickle juice ( these were good ole’ fashioned pickles from a big box store not anything fancy)

Pickle Chips for garnish

OK so there ya go blog world.. after months of obsessively reading blogs  I am finally getting in on the action.

As for other news, I completed my first WOD  (work out of the day) at Crossfit this morning. After joining for a month I am officially hooked and worked up enough guts to go to a non-beginner class bright and early this morning. As part of this journal I am hoping to keep an online record of my WODs and progression as new athlete in “the box”.

Today’s Punishment:

The prescribed weight for this working was a 14 lbs medicine balls for the wallballs ( throwing a medicine ball against the wall overhead) and 35 lbs for the kettlebell swings. I can say even though I did scale the weight I had the choice to cut the reps in half and I declined =).
